Congratulations to Ekaterina Badaeva, who defended her Ph.D. work “Towards Understanding Electronic Structure of Mn and Co Doped ZnO Quantum Dots Using Density Functional Theory Methods” on February 7. She was a theoretical chemistry student in Professor Xiaosong Li’s laboratory for the past five and a half years. Ekaterina will stay at the University of Washington as a postdoctoral research associate for several months while looking for an industrial position in Seattle or Bellevue. This summer she plans to take a couple months off to spend time with her kids and family. She is excited to be finished with her Ph.D. studies and move forward with a new job and new life.
