Congratulations to Stephanie Benight, who defended her Ph.D. work “Nanoengineering of Soft Matter Interactions in Organic Electro-Optic Materials” on August 12th. Stephanie J. Benight was born in Seattle, Washington and raised near Chicago, Illinois. She attended Stanford University where she received her B.S. in Chemistry in 2006. Stephanie has been a student in Professor Larry Dalton’s lab since 2007, where she has investigated the use of incorporating additional soft matter interactions in organic electro-optic (OEO) materials. Her work has included development, synthesis, characterization, and theoretical investigation of novel OEO materials. Stephanie is currently pursuing several postdoctoral positions where she hopes to study additional applications of organic electronics and photonics.
