We welcome the incoming class of 54 chemistry graduate students, who are beginning their graduate studies in Chemistry beginning this September 16, 2010. The new students are joining a Chemistry graduate student body that now numbers 212 strong. We are excited to have the new students on board as they get started. This autumn quarter they have been busy with Departmental orientation activities, for example, state-of-the-art teaching assistant (TA) training. On Wednesday, September 29, Autumn quarter classes begin and they will begin taking classes and serving as TAs. This autumn the new students are also actively engaged in learning about the various research programs underway here in Chemistry and across UW campus. Selecting a research advisor and group is right around the corner.
