Conor Sutherland recently won the College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research award to undertake research for his senior thesis. Conor plans to use the funds to travel to Jackson, Mississippi to investigate the papers of writer William Faulkner. Conor's thesis will use Faulkner as a case study for investigating how education occurs in society through non-academic contemplation. Congratualtions Conor! |

Wesleyen University's Human-Animal Studies Fellowship Program awarded CHID faculty, Maria Elena Garcia, a six week residency at their Animal Studies Institute. Fellows are expected to "make a contribution to the intellectual life of the Program through participating in a series of workshops and guest lectures." Congratulations Maria Elena!
