Many travelers from Europe change planes at JFK in New York City or Dulles in Washington, D.C. Travelers coming from Asia and Australia/New Zealand may be able to find direct flights and otherwise change planes in Los Angeles or San Francisco. One discount airline from New York is Jet Blue; discount airlines in the western U.S. are Alaska and Southwest.
SeaTac International Airport is about 18 miles from the University of Washington. A map of airport ground transportation locations is here. Airport shuttle buses are available; reservations can be made online at the Shuttle Express website.
