Planning Your Course of Study

1. Run a DARS Report for CHID.

Questions to keep in mind with this planning:

  1. What CHID requirements do I still need to fulfill?
  2. How many university requirements do I need to fulfill?
  3. Am I interested in a double major? A double degree? If so, how many credits can count for both CHID and the other department?
  4. Am I planning on doing a minor? If so, how many credits can count for both CHID and the other department?
  5. Does this add up to 180 credits (or 225 if I am doing a double degree)?
  6. Do I want to try to work in some General Studies 350 internship credits?
  7. Do these courses help me build a relationship with a potential faculty advisor?

2. Go through the entire course catalog.

  1. Look for classes that sound interesting to you.
  2. Copy and paste them into a Word(tm) document.
  3. Look for themes.
  4. Look for faculty names and quarters offered.

3. Try to identify when the courses you want to take will be taught.
