The Center for Instructional Development and Research promotes excellence in teaching and learning at the University of Washington through its work with individual faculty and TAs, departments, campus-wide initiatives, and University leaders. CIDR staff collaborate on the design, implementation, and assessment of ways to advance learning for all students in the diverse UW community.
To promote excellence in teaching and learning, CIDR consultants:
-
provide knowledge of teaching and learning research and best practices to the UW teaching community
-
contribute expertise by applying, adapting, and extending that knowledge in UW settings
-
foster a culture of innovation through leadership and participation in campus-wide exchanges on improving teaching and learning
-
act as advocates for UW people and programs that advance teaching and learning
- promote UW nationally and internationally as a leading research university committed to student learning
