Do you have a question or a concern about teaching that you'd like to discuss? Each year hundreds of UW instructors - from award-winning teachers to first-time instructors - come to CIDR to discuss their teaching with one of our consultants.
We can discuss any teaching-related concern you have, big or small - from retooling an assignment to creating a whole new course, from engaging student participation in class discussion to the many challenges of grading and writing exams. If you're not sure where to start, we can help you decide which questions to address first, and identify other related questions that are likely to come up along the way.
CIDR consultants can serve as a sounding-board, help you consider alternatives, direct you to research and other resources on teaching and learning, and let you know what other instructors have done when they have faced similar teaching and learning questions.
CIDR is open year-round, and consultations are free, confidential, and customized to your teaching situation - for example, to the course level, class size, and discipline. To schedule a consultation, call 206-543-6588, or contact us by email to arrange an appointment.
