Faculty and TAs who work together to teach a class must coordinate any number of details, ranging from grading and office hours to section content and assignment design. Depending on the type of class and the experience of the TAs involved, supervising professors may choose to take on the role of manager, model, or mentor for their TAs.
Because of the power differences inherent in Faculty/TA working relationships (a TA may find herself assisting a professor who is also her dissertation advisor), it is important for all involved to establish clear expectations and lines of communication early on.
