Understanding Students

Understanding Students is key to developing an effective curriculum. Students come from a wide range of backgrounds and diverse experiences. This multiplicity can play a role in how students learn in the classroom and it can have an effect on the classroom environment.

Being aware of students' differences will help you plan your class in such a way as to engage the students with course material. For example, you will be able to link class content to their prior knowledge. You will also be more prepared to create an inclusive environment where all students have a chance to flourish.
