Coming together at UW
One
accomplishment of MEChA was to get an entire dormitory floor
devoted to Chicana/os. This floor
became the center of activism for MEChA.
Ricardo Martinez was part of the second
class of Chicano students recruited to UW in 1970. He
remembers the inspiration and dedication of that
group.
After participating in
MEChA while at the University, Ricardo Martinez went on to law school. He is now
a United States District Court Judge.
