1940-42:
The battle with Boeing

In 1940, African American activists launched a campaign to force the Boeing Company and its principal union, the International Association of Machinists, to drop their policies of racial exclusion. In 1942, Boeing hired its first African American employees.

The Northwest Enterprise hammered Boeing for its “whites only” policy.
