agriculture, Chicana/o students were concerned about the rights
of farm workers.
Supporting
the United Farm Workers’ grape boycott, in 1969 Chicanos
and other students waged a successful campaign to convince
the UW to stop purchasing grapes from non-union growers.
Next the campaign focused on Safeway and other grocery
stores.
