Student Activists:
University of Washington
Seattle Central Community College Seattle High Schools
Students of all races and ethnicities participated in civil rights protest in Washington state.  Here, Native American students join a protest organized by the Asian American students at Seattle Central Community College in 1971.
Students were a vital part of the Seattle civil rights movements. This slide show explores how student activists transformed the University of Washington, Seattle Central Community College, and Seattle High Schools in the late 1960’s and early 70’s.
More importantly, student activists contributed to the broader struggle for rights and justice that reshaped Seattle and reshaped America.
