CHAIR'S MESSAGE

Welcome to the Department of Construction Management.  Our Department was established in 1964 and over the past 40 years has built a legacy of excellence.  We educate students, develop leaders, and partner with the construction industry to provide advice, mentoring, research, and career opportunities for our students.  Similar to other academic units, the Department has three major missions: education, research-scholarship, and service.  Frequently the activities of the faculty and students simultaneously address more than one of these missions.

The Department offers courses and programs at a variety of levels to address the needs of those who are interested in construction management.  There is a nationally-accredited undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Construction Management program that prepares individuals for entry-level industry positions.  The Department offers both classroom-based and online Master of Science in Construction Management programs that prepare individuals for middle management positions.  The Department is also part of a college-wide interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in the Built Environment that provides students an opportunity for in-depth study into construction management issues.  For those who are interested in continuing education, but not pursuing a degree, the Department offers both classroom-based and online Certificate Programs in Construction Management in partnership with University of Washington Educational Outreach.

At this site, we provide information on the range of programs, people, and activities, which together describe our Department.  If you do not find the information you are seeking, we hope that you will contact us using one of the e-mail addresses provided at appropriate locations throughout the site.
