Admission Procedure for the Master of Science in Construction Management:

Application Deadlines:

U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents:

For Autumn quarter admission: July 1
For Winter quarter admission: November 1
For Spring quarter admission: February 1

International Applicants:

For Autumn quarter admission: February 1
For Winter quarter admission: July 1
For Spring quarter admission: November 1

Application Package:

Your application packet must consist of the following:

  1. Graduate School application (Online application; when asked which degree program you are applying to, select M.S. in Construction Management. The Web site provides instructions on materials to be mailed to Graduate Admissions and the department.) Includes application fee.

  2. Transcripts: If you earned a degree from an institution outside the United States or its territories, you must print a copy of the online application and send it, together with an official copy of the transcript and degree statement, to the following address: Office of Graduate Admissions, University of Washington, Box 353770, Seattle, WA 98195-3770.

  3. English Proficiency: If your native language is not English, the results of the TOEFL are required. The results of the TOEFL must be received on or before the Department of Construction Management's application deadline. TOEFL scores older than 2 years are not valid.

  4. GRE scores: Scores must be received on or before the application deadline. GRE scores older than 2 years are not valid. The CM Department requires a minimum score of 500 in the quantitative section of the GRE. No minimum scores have been set for the other sections.

Items 5-12 must be mailed in one envelope to reach the Department of Construction Management by the application deadline.

  1. Photocopy of the online Graduate School application

  2. Department of Construction Management application (get application in Word or PDF format)

  3. Transcripts: One official copy of transcripts from all collegiate institutions you have attended are required and must be received by Graduate Admissions Committee by application deadline.

  4. Photocopy of GRE scores

  5. Photocopy of TOEFL scores (for international applicants only)

  6. Two-page Statement of Purpose explaining why you seek admission to the M.S. Construction Management program (see instructions in Word or PDF format)

  7. Personal résumé

  8. Three letters of recommendation (from current or former employers or supervisors, or former teachers), each accompanied by the proper form (get form in Word or PDF format) and received by the appropriate application deadline.
