The Undergraduate Construction Management Program does not admit students until they have junior standing and have met all entrance requirements. Students often complete their first two years of study as an undeclared major in the UW College of Arts and Sciences or at a community college.
Step 1: Take prerequisite courses. Click link for list of prerequisite courses.
Step 2: (Recommended) Meet with the CM Adviser to review your course plan and to discuss your application.
Step 3: Transfer students only - Submit separate application to UW for Autumn (Feb 15 deadline).
Step 4: Complete and submit CM application by April 1st.
Optional: Prospective CM applicants are encouraged to attend construction company presentations and interviews, held throughout autumn and winter quarters [click for schedule]. Company presentations are in the evenings, last about 1 hour, and are an excellent way for students to learn more about this industry and the opportunities available. Companies also conduct interviews for summer jobs/paid internships for students who intend to apply to the CM program.
Admission to the Construction Management Program is competitive. Admission decisions are based on the applicant’s academic performance and potential, extent and quality of relevant experience, apparent aptitude, and personal motivation. Academic performance is based on overall grade point average, grade point average in the most recent three quarters, and academic performance in quantitative technical courses, such as mathematics and physics.
Applications are reviewed by the Department Undergraduate Admissions Committee during April. Offers of admission typically are mailed in late April or early May indicating that the offer is contingent upon the applicant completing all prerequisite course requirements by September. |
