All data in this study are confidential. Only the study team will have access to records that identify subjects personally. If we publish the results of our study, individual names will not be used. We will keep study data for 5 years. Participation is voluntary, and a decision to be in this study will not affect your employment. Subjects may refuse to participate, and may withdraw from the study at any time. We will provide each subject with a copy of their results, and a summary of the results of the study. | Risks Associated with the Study | ||
|
There are no known risks associated with participating in this study. The hearing tests involve standardized and accepted clinical procedures. The dosimeters are lightweight and can be worn comfortably on a belt or in a jacket pocket. Some people feel that questions about their medical history or hearing loss are an invasion of privacy, but no subject is required to answer any particular question.
