The US Department of Transportation has awarded $3.5 million to a multi-university regional transportation center, that will be led by the University of Washington. It’s called “PacTrans”, which stands for Pacific Northwest Transportation Consortium, and it will help develop modern transportation systems for Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. One of the ten newly funded centers, PacTrans will fund research that addresses the broad themes of safety and sustainability. Read more here.
