Peg Achterman
Peg thinks undergraduates are a blast and loves watching them go through the life-changes that college brings. She is also fascinated by the current transitions within the mainstream media and studies how newspapers are attempting to save their skins by incorporating multimedia. Stay tuned and note the changes in newspaper websites to see if this works! On the rare occasion that it snows in Seattle, Peg does a happy-dance because she no longer has to run out with a video camera and risk life and limb as people try to drive on ice-slickened roads! The same sigh of relief comes when she does not have to endure the lame picket-line chants as various labor unions go on strike. But, she does miss being on the front lines during election-season!
Amanda Ballantyne
Amanda has been out of town for the past three months and was completely non-responsive to our requests for any personal information she might be willing to share. So, you should just know that she's friendly most of the time. she studies politics. she's a recovering political organizer. she likes beer, both the drinking and the brewing. she's a decent cook and she is pretending to be a distance runner...
Colin Lingle
Colin Lingle studies democracy in mass media and new media, with a focus on such subfields as representations of terrorism and the environment. This dark and ominous professional work necessitates intensive immersion in therapeutic domains of popular culture, particularly the texts of Whedon, Fey and Grillo-Marxuach. Professional objectives include winning the lottery and becoming an anonymous benefactor (pet causes: literacy and roller derby). Personal objectives include getting a drink and talking about spies. He is learning to operate a letterpress, the iPhone of the 16th century
Li Liu
Li likes everything relating to organizational culture…and any topics covering intercultural communication in general. She's from China and takes pride in introducing "authentic" local Chinese restaurants to people. She likes Seattle (in summer, of course), and is trying to tell difference between different types of coffee. She dislikes long meetings and fast food, but is passionate about working out regularly…or ways to keep up with the schedule to work out regularly.
Teri Whitney
Teri isn't sure what she studies, as she is too busy running in opposite scholarly directions. She does know, however, that said running keeps her too busy to make any logical decisions. Teri has a penchant for the word penchant, likes to bake, enjoys chatting over a beer, loves other people's dogs, and, though impressed by the power of nature, is decidedly against tropical storms.
