Academic Interests: Child & Youth Development and the Family (how
these interact and influence one another).
I am from Seattle, Washington.
I love spending time with friends, watching movies, coffee, reading a
good book, being in the sun and on the water, working with kids, leading
a small group of twelve-year old girls from my church.
My desire for future careers involves helping children who don’t
feel loved to feel as though they belong. I would love to be a counselor
for children and families, as well as teach public health education and
parenting skills education classes.
In my family, besides my mom and dad, I have two younger brothers, three
dogs and two cats!
As a child, I always dreamed about sailing around the world, I always
loved being on the water, there’s something mysterious to me about
the ocean, and how great it would be to travel and learn about all different
cultures.
As a social worker, my hope is that I will be able to empower children
to know they are important, capable and worthy of love that they may grow
up and feel as though they belong and share their gifts and strengths
within society.
