Refugee/migration issues esp. in the schools, working with indigenous communities, social justice, human rights
Hmmm. Job search-hopefully working with refugee families in the schools. I am also applying to jobs overseas.
I like to hang out with my husband & family and friends, read non-academic things, walk my dogs, movies.
Since I was a little kid I have been passionate about human rights issues around the world. I was the one in the family wanting to watch Norma Rae instead of Saturday Night Fever.
I have a fraternal twin sister who is 8 minutes younger than me. She works at the international school in Tokyo. Another tidbit is that I have a semi-paralyzed German Shepherd that we wheel around the neighborhood on a custom dog-cart.
I have worked with East African refugees in the past and am working with some families right now and this course will give me experience and practice so that I am more skilled. Also, I have always been fascinated by Eritrea since I read a book called To Asmara and have wanted to learn more about it.
Getting out of the classroom and the hands-on community involvement. And the dinner!
Getting distracted by impending graduation and job search.
