UW Medicine is allowed to disclose limited PHI to law enforcement when a crime has occurred on the premises. The “Process for Providing Patient Information to Law Enforcement When a Crime was Committed at UW Medicine” can assist workforce members in this event.

HIPAA Toolkits

UW Medicine Compliance provides HIPAA Toolkits to assist departments in managing workforce members and electronic systems. The toolkit resources are provided to System Owners and System Operators [SOSO] and/or departmental leaders managing workforce members.
