(To Remove a Cage from the Census)

DCM Perforated Cards:

  • Find the Barcode Card Number on the Barcoded Cage Card located on the Biohazard animal cage.  Match the Barcode Card Number to the deactivation sheet in the ABSL2/3 Barcode Census Notebook located outside of the room without removing the cards from the biohazard room.
  • Clearly write date on the space provided on the deactivation sheet.
  • Place barcoded deactivation strip in the Activation/Deactivation Drop Box located on the door outside of the room.
  • Dispose of the deactivated cage card inside the room.
