Drop Boxes
CAGE CARD ACTIVATION/DEACTIVATION DROP BOX
  • Cage Card Activation/Deactivation Drop Boxes are located on the inside of every animal room door.
  • Cage Card Activation/Deactivation Drop Boxes are emptied and dated by Comparative Medicine staff every day.
  • The contents of each drop box are placed into envelopes and sealed. The envelopes must be labeled by the facility, and date.
  • The contents will be brought to the facility supervisor’s office by 3PM every day.
  • Activation and Deactivation barcoded strips are processed via the date provided.

ATTENTION

  • If activation date is not written on the activation barcoded strip, that cage will be activated on the date that room was last scanned. Charging will be retroactive to the date of the last scan. This could be more than two weeks.
  • If deactivation date is not written on the deactivation barcoded strip, that cage will be deactivated on the date it is received by our department.
  • If the barcoded portion of the cage card is defaced in any way you will be charged Barcode Census Technician time.
