DCM Barcode Census
DCM will create new barcoded perforated cage cards to be place on all cages in specified rooms:
  • The Barcoding Office will coordinate with Animal Purchasing to accurately determine the total number of cages in the room.
  • A sign will be posted on the door to all PI's and investigative staff to inform of the impending change and not to remove any new cage cards.
  • PI/Group, Facility Supervisor, or the Barcoding Office will be provided with barcoded perforated cage cards.

Please remember to request your cage cards ahead of time!

Check our FAQ frequently for we often update the list.

Notice: Soon we will start the transition into barcode census for room SB035 in Harborview Research and Training Vivarium.

Please make sure you have your barcoded cage cards on your cages. If you are given cage cards put them up as soon as possible. When we come visit to scan your room, you will be charged barcode census tech time if you do not have your cage cards up.

As a reminder; when an animal transfer request is submitted and approved, your cage cards are automatically printed for you and available for pickup at the receiving facility. Requesting new cage cards is not needed. Thank you!
