The Center for Conservation Biology and the University of Washington have established:

An endowed chair of conservation biology in the Department of Biology. This position is responsible for providing strategic direction for the Center, linkages to other conservation biology programs within the University, and to government and non-government agencies throughout the world. The endowed chair was funded by The Susan & Craig McCaw Foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates and an anonymous donor.

Renovation and startup funds for Center facilities and equipment at the UW were funded by The Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation, and the Leonard X. Bosack & Bette M. Kruger Charitable Foundation.
