Individual and Couple Counseling

The Counseling Center offers both short-term individual and short-term couple counseling. If it is determined at intake that a student or couple will pursue counseling at the Center, the intake counselor will facilitate assignment to an on-going counselor, with whom the student or couple will meet on a regular basis.

Couples desiring joint counseling must attend an intake appointment together. Couples can be married, partners, dating, same-sex, or heterosexual, but at least one member of the couple must be a currently-enrolled UW student. During the intake session, the counselor will determine whether couple counseling appears appropriate. If it is decided that couple counseling is not appropriate, alternative treatment recommendations will be made.
