2010-2011


Benefits, Salary, and Duration of Internship

Each internship position is a full-time (40 hours per week) university position.  As a result, interns are provided with certain employee benefits.  These benefits are as follows:

  • 10 paid holidays
  • 11 days paid sick leave
  • 13 days vacation (plus one personal day)
  • Like professional staff, interns' professional development/dissertation time is negotiated on a quarterly basis.  The amount of time used for professional development activities will vary depending upon specific interest.
  • Full medical, dental, and vision benefits are available.
  • Access to E-mail and Internet.  Each intern has a private/individual office with a computer and printer.
  • As with other university staff members, interns have library privileges, access to university recreational facilities, and may purchase parking permits and discounted bus passes.

Intern salaries for the 2010-2011 fiscal year are budgeted at $23,664.00 for 12 months.  The formal contract extends from September 1, 2010 through August 31, 2011.
