Mission
The vision of the Center
is to unite faculty, staff, students and members of the community to find
solutions to pressing social problems.
The Center exists to enhance
higher education's practical impact and, in partnership with others, address
problems in both the community and the classroom.
The center shares the
University's commitment to multicultural education, diversity and outreach
to the communities of the South Puget sound. It also seeks to enhance
leadership skills for community development and to further curriculum that
allows us to learn from our diverse histories and create a better future.
Our activities aim to:
-
Promote understanding among various groups that
make up our communities.
-
Enhance our ability as a society to respect and
value diversity.
-
Foster equal rights and social justice.
