Apply
The Summer Stretch online application will be available Monday, March 5, 2012 at 8 am for all qualified applicants.
We encourage all students to apply online at the beginning of the application period in order for us to know which classes will fill and thus aid in our planning; however, we cannot confirm a student’s acceptance into the program until we receive qualifying test scores and, in the case of fast-paced math classes, a teacher recommendation.
Registration and Fee Processing
To better serve our students and their parents, payment is administered through UW Educational Outreach.
After we receive your complete application, we will send you an email regarding acceptance into the program and the next step in the registration and payment process.
Payment is required upon registration. To apply for financial assistance, please submit your online application for assistance at the same time as you apply for acceptance into the program.
How to Apply
A complete application consists of:
1. Qualifying ACT or SAT scores. ACT or SAT scores should be sent through the national testing organization to code 481174 or code 9899. Please also include this information in your online application. You may email test scores to email hidden; JavaScript is required or fax them to (206) 685-3890.
If you are a returning Stretch student and you would like to take the same discipline this year, you do not need to re-submit your scores. If you would like to switch, from math to literature for example, and you did not have the qualifying scores for that discipline last year, you will need to re-take the test.
2. If you would like to take one of our fast-paced math classes (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, or Precalculus), a teacher recommendation. (Please rename the form using the following convention: “student-name-last_first.doc”.)
3. The online application: https://catalyst.uw.edu/webq/survey/kcarter4/160039 (will not work until 8 am, Monday, March 5, 2012).
Applications are accepted on a rolling, first-come first-served basis. Complete applications are processed first.
Financial Assistance
A limited amount of need-based financial assistance is available for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch. Families apply for assistance at the same time as they apply for acceptance into the program. For all financial assistance recipients: a copy of your most recent tax return (either 2010 or 2011) is required and must be submitted to our office by May 14, 2012.
