Who Can Apply?
Students who wish to apply to Summer Stretch for the first time should take the ACT or SAT. When registering for the ACT or SAT, please use code 9899 to insure that your scores are sent to the Robinson Center. Please do not use the regular UW code. Please note that each Stretch class has specific admission requirements.
Requirements for Essay Writing, Debate, American Literature, Reel Life in Focus
ACT (Reading): 50th percentile (20) if taken in 7th grade. See below for test requirements for other grades.
SAT Reasoning Test (Critical Reading): 50th percentile (500) if taken in 7th grade. See below for test requirements for other grades.
Requirements for the Fast-Paced Math classes (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus) and Rockets and Robotics
Please note that the fast-paced math classes also require a teacher’s recommendation.
ACT (Math): 50th percentile (19) if taken in 7th grade. See below for test requirements for other grades.
SAT Reasoning Test (Math): 50th percentile (510) if taken in 7th grade. See below for test requirements for other grades.
Note: enrollment of 6th graders in Algebra 1 is at the Principal of Summer Programs’ discretion. 6th grade students will only be allowed to take Algebra 1.
Requirements for Chemistry
Note: Chemistry students must have completed 8th grade and have completed first year Algebra or equivalent.

SAT Reasoning Test: (Critical Reading and Math): 50th percentile (500 Critical Reading and 510 Math) if taken in 7th grade. See below for test requirements for other grades.
Scores from tests taken in 8th, 9th or 10th grades are expected to be higher and will be evaluated on an individual basis.
