With the support of the President's Diversity Appraisal Implementation Fund, the Comparative History of Ideas Program developed a new course titled (Re)Thinking Diversity. Through guest lectures, readings, and discussions, this course enabled students to explore the idea of diversity in relation to various perspectives on power, identity, and histories of oppression.
The Learning We Need Now Curriculum Guide
The Center for Curriculum Transformation recently revised its curricular guide, The Learning We Need Now: What Every UW Student Needs to Know About Diversity, and distributed copies to advisors and incoming sophomores. This guide contains practical information about courses, programs of study, and extracurricular opportunities that enhance students' understanding of diversity.
