CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Golden is the Acting Director of the STD Control Program for
Public Health - Seattle & King County. He conducts operational research
focusing on the epidemiology, prevention and control of sexually
transmitted infections (STI), including HIV. Recent and ongoing
projects have investigated new approaches to partner notification as a
means to control bacterial STI, the integration of mathematical modeling
into public health disease control activities, STI in men who have sex
with men, and the evaluation of new diagnostic tests for STI.
Opportunities for fellows with an interest in public health include both
long-term research projects, and public health practicums completed as
part of the requirements for an MPH degree.
