Information overload? Tired of talking? Here on your own? Events within the Music & Entertainment track are designed with just one simple thing in mind: FUN! Come to any of the events in this track and we guarantee you won't hear anything about FIGs, TRIGs, 180 credits, or graduation requirements... unless you bring it up!

We've booked local and national artists to entertain you and 6,000 of your new friends. Gigs include musical performances, participatory sports games, poetry shows, dance classes and much, much more!

Free Lake Sailing!

In this workshop you'll learn about the culture of Wushu, the Chinese martial art Jet Li mastered and was a champion of before going off to star in movies. You'll also get a chance to meet new people and get a small workout learning proper warm up techniques, ways to improve your flexibility, and basic Wushu moves. Also, don't miss the chance to see the Husky Wushu Team in action.

Late Night Shopping Event at Fred Meyer

Location: Buses depart from two locations: Memorial Way (north of the flagpole) OR out front of Terry-Lander Residence Hall, as early as 10:00pm

Stock up on the supplies you need to start school. You're invited to a special UW student-only late-night event at Fred Meyer superstore on the Monday of Dawg Daze from 11pm until 1am. Free food, drinks, and a huge raffle with prizes like a 20" Flat Screen TV, a computer desk, a mountain bike, $100 gift card, and much more! Make sure you bring your UW student ID card (or your Dawg Pass) to get in the door, and receive a special savings certificate to buy anything from groceries to dorm essentials. All you have to do is show up at either Memorial Way (north of the flagpole) or out front of Terry-Lander Residence Hall starting as early as 10:00pm, and free bus shuttles will take you back and forth. It is best to arrive early to avoid the lines.

Wanna be like Jet Li? Come learn martial arts from the Husky Wushu Team. In this workshop you'll learn about the culture of Wushu, the Chinese martial art Jet Li mastered and was a champion of before going off to star in movies. You'll also get a chance to meet new people and get a small workout learning proper warm up techniques, ways to improve your flexibility, and basic Wushu moves. Also, don't miss the chance to see the Husky Wushu Team in action.

Queer Rollerskating at the IMA

Come cruise the IMA gym on your roller skates! Skate your way around Gym A to some fabulous roller disco music. Admission is free for currently enrolled students and faculty/staff, and spouse/same sex domestic partner IMA members. There is a $7.00 fee for guests (16 yrs of age or older). All equipment is provided. Skate rentals are free w/Husky Card, faculty/staff ID, or spouse/same sex domestic partner IMA membership card. There is a $1.00 skate rental fee for guests (16 yrs of age or older). Faculty/staff without an IMA membership pay the IMA single use fee of $5.00.

This ride is when new and returning members (re)connect and kick off another great year. All skill levels are welcome on the welcome-ride, including riders planning on racing in the Spring.
