Freshman Convocation: A University of Washington Welcome

The University of Washington community will come together at this event to welcome the entering class of 2008. Microsoft Chairman William H.Gates, III will be our honored speaker. It will be a great time for freshmen to meet their classmates and find out about all the exciting discoveries and opportunities awaiting them on the UW campus. IMA Building Explore Tours

Location: IMA Building Lobby

The Intramural Activities Building (IMA) is the recreational sports and fitness center on campus. We invite you and your family to explore all that the IMA has to offer UW students. Tours will be conducted from 12:30pm to 2pm. Come check out the cardio fitness equipment, indoor climbing center, swimming pool, gyms, indoor track, Dawg Bites Cafe, and pick up information on sports & fitness classes, intramural & club sports, job opportunities, and more. The IMA is located just north of Hec Edmondson Pavilion. Our goal is to provide facilities, programs, and services, which support the recreation and fitness needs of the UW community.

Intercollegiate Quidditch @ UW Pick-up Game

Here is your one-stop shopping for the easy and affordable decorating of your new residence hall room or apartment. Hundreds of images, from fine art prints and photographs to popular art, most within $10 to $25. The sale runs from Sunday, September 21 through Friday, October 3, 9am to 5pm (except for Saturday 9/27 and Sunday 9/28). Twenty percent of the proceeds goes towards the purchase of UW student art for the HUB's permanent collection.

President's Picnic

Husky Men's Soccer vs. New Mexico

Rally SPOTs will take place before: Quad Flicks, Comedy Show, Fun & Games at the IMA, Fall Fling, Academic Welcome Fairs, and One Bus Away tours. Come to our SPOTs to meet new people, learn about upcoming events, and have a chance to win great prizes!

Fun and Games @ the IMA!

Come explore the Intramural Activities Building (IMA), and take part in all that your campus sports and fitness center has to offer. Head down for fun and free food, and join the action with dodgeball, basketball, and volleyball brought to you by the UW Greek community, RollerDisco hosted by RHSA, and cardio fitness machines. Your "Dawg Pass" will admit you to free climbing at the Indoor Climbing Center. Numerous student clubs will be on hand to help you at the Student Activities Office Clubs Fair. The evening will be topped off with the Jet City Improv comedy show in one of the gyms. IMA hours will be extended for the evening, plus more surprises. Come ready to participate in the fun and games!

Climb On!

Experience new heights at the IMA's Indoor Climbing Center. The Center will be open Friday, September 19 - Monday, September 22 4:00-9:00pm, and Sunday, September 21, 6:00-9:30pm. Admission and equipment rentals will be free with your "Dawg Pass." Staff will be available to provide pointers and set you up properly. Prior climbing experience is not necessary. Your Husky Card gets you into the IMA and then just show your "Dawg Pass" at the Indoor Climbing Center to climb on up!
