"All the things that I learned in the first year of DHAT training have begun to come together. I can now truly appreciate what I am doing here. I see the people and their need for dental care. While my education is refined, my desire to fill this need is strengthened. The combination of environment, facilities, and the amount of people grateful for dental services makes Bethel a perfect place for the second year of DHAT training."

"...we are doing more hand-on training and we are experiencing more things that we haven't done in the first year. There is a lot to learn in this program within two years, but it is a great experience that I am going through at this time."

"Being able to work with people and see patients has been a very good experience for me. I think the second year here in Bethel is definitely preparing me well for when I will be off working in my own clinic, and being able to start projects in my communities."

"The second year of school is much different than the first. There are many changes, from the classroom setting, to the expenses at the store. Bethel is a lot smaller than Anchorage, but it is more like home... People here are very nice, and you see people you know more often. The second year is much more like it is going to be when you have your own clinic, the transition was very intense."
