PRECEDENT represents a new and exciting opportunity in clinical practice:
A Practice-based REsearch Collaborative in Evidence-based DENTistry
that will establish the infrastructure to perform a wide variety of
oral health research studies in diverse practice settings across a
five-state region covering Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

The goal of the RCDRC is to improve our capacity to deal with oral diseases
and disorders and to promote oral health by developing new ideas, concepts,
treatment
procedures, and diagnostic systems based on scientific knowledge.

In this Center we have assembled a nontraditional
collaboration of scientists that we believe is ideal for addressing the
complex problems at the root of oral health disparity.
The Center’s seven core research projects cover underserved populations
in Washington, Oregon and Alaska, with outreach extending to Idaho and
Montana.
