Research Day is
an annual event held by the UW School of Dentistry to recognize its
standing as a national leader in dental research. The
event consists of a morning oral session--including a one-hour keynote
speech and several shorter faculty presentations-- and an afternoon
poster session. Faculty and graduate student posters are included among
those from undergraduate students involved in the Short Term Training
(SURF) Program.
The arrangement of the morning session is usually thematic. Recent
themes have included “Cementum and Bone in Oral Health,” and “Collaborations
of the University of Washington School of Dentistry and the Washington
Dental Service in Clinical Dental Research.”

Research Day 2006 will be held on Friday, September 21st.
The oral session will begin at 8:15am in Health Sciences T639, followed
by the poster session in the Health Sciences Lobby from 11:15am-12:30pm.
Joint keynote lectures will be given by UW
School of Dentistry professors Dr. Beverly Dale Crunk and Dr. Roy
Page. The keynote addresses will be followed by a series of
short presentations by School of Dentistry faculty members, and a
poster session held in the Health Sciences Lobby.
Poster Session
Research Day 2007 will feature posters by students involved in summer
research projects through the UW School of Dentistry's training grants,
as well as those by faculty and graduate students. Additionally, Research
Day will host an Undergraduate Poster Poster Competition.
