The Marc Lindenberg Center prepares students and faculty at the University for life and work in a global society. Through partnerships, the Lindenberg Center is working to expand teaching, research, and service opportunities in the areas of humanitarian action, international development, and global citizenship.

Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs: International Relief and Development Certificate
The International Relief and Development Certificate Program provides students from diverse disciplines with an understanding of the dynamics of relief and development, and the skills necessary to work collaboratively. The program prepares UW graduate students for the challenges of working internationally in the aftermath of natural and man-made disasters and on poverty alleviation and long-term solutions for communities worldwide.

Village Reach
Founded in Seattle in 2000, VillageReach is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to improve health and quality of life in the most remote areas of developing countries. By addressing “last mile” healthcare logistics and infrastructure, VillageReach empowers governments and local partners to bring healthcare and other essential services to those who most desperately need them: the rural poor.

Red Cross Seattle: King County Chapter
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

Mercy Corps (Seattle branch office)
Mercy Corps exists to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities.

World Concern
A Christian humanitarian organization that provides emergency relief and community development in some of the most neglected areas of the world.

World Vision (Seattle branch office)
World Vision is a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty.

International Medical Corps is a global humanitarian nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs.

Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating real and lasting change for children in need in the United States and around the world.

World Food Program
As the food aid arm of the UN, WFP uses its food to: meet emergency needs and support economic & social development. The Agency also provides the logistics support necessary to get food aid to the right people at the right time and in the right place.

Oxfam International is a confederation of 12 organizations working together with over 3,000 partners in more than 100 countries to find lasting solutions to poverty, suffering and injustice.

Médecins San Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) is an international humanitarian aid organization that provides emergency medical assistance to populations in danger in more than 70 countries.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is the world's largest humanitarian organization, providing assistance without discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees was established on December 14, 1950 by the United Nations General Assembly. The agency is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. Its primary purpose is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees
