The Global Health Leadership Program (GHLP)


The Global Health Leadership Program (GHLP) is an educational program of the Department of Global Health (DGH) that works through partnerships with ministries of health, universities, and other stakeholders to strengthen health systems in developing countries by enhancing their leadership, management, and policy development  capacity.The GHLP is an offshoot of the Population Leadership Program and current efforts include work in Sudan, India, Ethiopia, and Pakistan. Starting in January 2009, the GHLP will train 35 experienced health professionals from 15 states in Sudan, including a one academic quarter fellowship at UW DGH for 15 of these trainees.  The GHLP is directed by Aaron Katz, Adjunct Senior Lecturer of Global Health, with staff support provided by Julie Brunett, Catherine Cunningham, Anita Verna Crofts, Nicola De Paul, and Elisabeth Mitchell.
