Scholarly/Research Activities

University of Washington School of Public Health, Seattle, WA, 2009

Coordinated fieldwork, created interview materials, conducted over -person interviews, and performed data analysis for Proyecto Bienestar, a project through Pacific Northwest Agricultural Safety And Health Center to assess awareness of asthma and pesticides among Latinos in the Yakima Valley area. Findings from this project will help evaluate community health projects in the area.

Community Outreach

Casa Latina Clinic Site Director – AL SHIFA HEALTH RESOURCE CENTER Seattle, WA, 2011      
Coordinate bi-monthly student-run screen and refer clinic at local non-profit primarily for Spanish-speaking patients affiliated with Casa Latina’s worker collaborative. Orient volunteers, including clinical and pre-clinical medical students, undergraduates, physician assistant students, and attending physician preceptor. Arrange for patient follow-up.

Volunteer Educator Seattle, WA, 2009-2010

Volunteered through various student organizations during pre-clinical years to give biology and anatomy presentations to preschool, elementary, and high school students.
