Tinder

Tinder is a backpacking camp stove that has greater surface area and a more stable base than minimalist camp stoves, while remaining easily transportable.

The goal of this project was to re-design the current backpacking camp stoves. The stoves now are minimal, small, light weight, but as a trade off, they are unstable, have bad temperature control, and are only really good for boiling water.

When designing this camp stove, I followed the theme of a campfire, I wanted to imitate the spirit and warmth people get when they are gathered and cooking next to a campfire. So, I sacrificed some of the minimalist features, to make a bigger camp stove that is targeted more towards groups of backpackers rather than a single person.

SCBA Fire Fighter Helmet

SCBA, stands for Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus. A very important equipment for fire fighters to use in situation where it requires them to go in the fire. SCBA is worn through a mask that is under a Nomex hood(fire resistant hood) and the fire fighter helmet. The problem with the current system is that in order to remove the mask, it requires taking off the hood and helmet, which is not very time efficient. My design combine the helmet and the SCBA mask into a single unit, and fire fighters are able to remove the mask more easily.

Contour Collaboration: Spider Mount

For the collaboration project with Contour, the sports utility camera company, I chose to focus on a camera accessory cater towards kids. The product allows kids to use the Contour camera as a toy or personal companion, so they are able to record their learning process, and then the kids are able to share this experience in video with their parents.
