Talus: Adjustable Prosthetic Foot

Talus is prosthetic foot that is integrated to snowboard, ski, and wakeboard boots. The device is comprised of a variable tension clutch ankle mechanism which can be tightened or loosened on-the-fly for desired stiffness during competition. Athletes with below or above knee amputations are able to use standard equipment that is slightly modified to receive the ratchet lever through the ankle hinge point of modern board sport boots. This eliminates the complete tear-down method currently in place for top competing athletes. The Talus ratchet system is solid state and simple to use similar to any adjustable buckles fixed to the clamps of the existing boot design.
