Polly

Polly is a conversational user interface that engages young people in politics so that they feel empowered to make informed voting decisions. It is designed for young voters who feel apathetic, frustrated or ignorant about politics. Polly engages them in small moments with meaningful pieces of information to make it easy to stay up to date on the issues that matter. Young people hold strong beliefs — Polly empowers them to take the next step and make an impact in their community.

This project was designed for the 2016 Microsoft Design Expo. We were selected to go to Microsoft where we presented Polly to other top design schools from around the world. Watch the full presentation.

The Plan

Death is a looming presence and a taboo topic in our society. This has led to a stagnation in the ways we view and deal with death planning and the dead themselves. A side-effect of this lack of innovation are the current environmentally unsound and unsustainable burial methods. Aside from the environmental impacts, this fear of talking about death results in poor planing. This lack of vigilance ultimately places a heavy burden onto grieving kin.

The Plan alleviates this burden. It promotes sustainable burial methods and helps a person develop their personal after-death plan. When the time comes, The Plan’s service handles the unpleasant details and leaves the loved ones to start their recovery without the added stress.

Hound is an app that makes it fun and easy to learn about how marijuana fits into your lifestyle.

The marijuana industry is young and unstructured. This has created a strong disconnect between buyers, producers, and producers. Hound is a mobile application that connects consumers with marijuana products that fit into their lifestyle. Hound can help consumers from brand new to seasoned marijuana users by learning their marijuana habits and finding them a perfect match.

Unfold

Unfold is an application that aims to help everyone, regardless of their needs, be able to find events. Unfold connects users to events happening in their neighborhood using a personalized recommendation system and also clearly communicates accessibility accommodations at events to create a sense of equality.
