Assistant Professor Axel Roesler received his Master's Degree in Design from The Ohio State University, and his Diplom in Industrial Design (equivalent to M.A.) from Burg Giebichenstein, Hochschule für Kunst und Design (University of Art and Design) in Halle, Germany. Axel has been product design consultant for Visual Syntax, Columbus, and industrial designer with Meyer-Hayoz Design Engineering, Constance, Germany. He received his Ph.D. studies in cognitive systems engineering with a specialization on human-centered design at C/S/E/L, the Cognitive Systems Engineering Laboratory at the Institute of Ergonomics, The Ohio State University. Being a researcher and designer in C/S/E/L's interdisciplinary team of psychologists, field observation experts, and computer and systems engineers for the past four years, Axel has published work in areas such as storytelling in design, visual narrative, remote visual perception, human/robot coordination, and design methodology for collaborative design.
