Lipoprotein Physiology and Atherosclerosis

An important focus for a number of DERC Affiliates at the University of Washington has been the relationship between diabetes, lipoproteins, and atherosclerosis. As is evident from this list, many investigators at the University of Washington have a longstanding history of high-quality productivity in clinical, basic, and translational research related to the role of diabetes in dyslipidemias and atherosclerosis. The list also includes new investigators that bring innovative and cutting-edge approaches to this area of research. These investigators commonly collaborate on individual grants-sponsored research programs and formally work together on several program project grants dealing with specific aspects of lipoprotein metabolism and atherosclerosis.
