Clinical Trials & Epidemiological Studies

Many departments and divisions in the University of Washington have a long history of major accomplishments in clinical research, clinical trials, and all aspects of translational research. As reflections of this, DERC Affiliate Investigators have in the past and continue to participate in most of the major clinical trials in diabetes in the United States. DERC Affiliate Investigators frequently assume leadership positions, direct clinical centers, and/or direct core laboratories and chair and serve on numerous committees for these trials. The strength of this area of the research base is documented by the following table, which lists the Affiliate Investigators that are PIs or directors of clinical trials or epidemiological studies at the University of Washington.
