Type 1 diabetes patients who used a dual-hormone system, which includes adding glucagon delivery to a closed-loop system using wearable sensors, during moderate-intensity aerobic exercise sessions had the lowest time in hypoglycemia and lowest mean time in hypoglycemia, compared with using a single-hormone system, predictive low glucose suspend or current care, according to a study in Diabetes Care. Researchers used a cohort of 20 patients and found that the time in range was higher with the single-hormone group than the dual-hormone group.
