Research shows decline in rates of CVD hospitalization in diabetes

A study in Diabetes Care showed significant declines in age-adjusted hospitalization rates for acute coronary syndrome, ischemic stroke, cardiac dysrhythmia, hemorrhagic stroke and heart failure among individuals with diabetes from 1998 to 2014. Researchers analyzed data from the National Inpatient Sample involving adults ages 35 and older and found that those without diabetes also showed significant declines in hospitalization rates for these conditions, except for cardiac dysrhythmia.
